Envelope Punch Board Box & Card Set

Tonight I'm sitting home waiting for our wee one to wake for his next feed before collapsing into bed for a night of broken sleep and more feeds. Tiring but rewarding. Meanwhile, my lovely ladies are doing some 'distance learning' and enjoying each other's company in my absence. Here's what they're making...

See the box hiding behind in the picture there? It's made using the Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board. Here's the details for making a box perfect for 3x3" cards and envelopes:

You’ll need one 7x7” sheet of card stock.

1) Using the Envelope Punch Board, punch then score at 2 ¾” on all four sides.

2) Line up each score line with the ‘score guide’, punch and score again on all four sides.

3) Round the corners with the other side of the punch on the board.

4) Cut at the corners to create four flaps.

5) Enclose the bottom of the box by drawing in the sides and then adhering the flaps to the bottom ‘triangle’.

Just Add Ink 203

This week we have a sketch challenge for you over at Just Add Ink. This really was quite a challenge for me so I feel this is a fairly liberal interpretation. I encourage you to have a go too and join in the fun!

Crafting Tip: How to make the little feathers - use a circle punch to cut the card twice creating a pointed oval shape. Fold the shape in half and cut fairly evenly on an angle coming in from the rounded side. Unfold and voila!

Peaceful Petals Card

Time to crank out those old friends, the blender pens! On this card I got colouring on our beautiful watercolour paper with a bit of Pool Party, Island Indigo, Crushed Curry, some subtle frost white shimmer paint and a dot of crystal effects. The stems are Sahara Sand and Pistachio Pudding.

And how can you not fall in love with these Peaceful Petals stamps? (See the new Occasions Catalogue here.) Really nice to have a floral set in my collection again.

Just Add Ink #201

This week at Just Add Ink, it's a colour challenge! 

Someone posted an 'It's Love Month' banner on Facebook this week. I had a witty comment I never replied but it did get me thinking about everything happening in our family this month. The first big event was our little boy - ok I guess he's not too little anymore - started school this week. February also brings a new house and new baby but in amongst all the busy busy times will be Valentines Day and our 7th wedding anniversary... hence the fun and loving mood of this card for my numero uno. (Shhh, but I doubt my husband reads my blog.) The sentiment summarises it all for us right now!

The scallop circle is from the Stampin' Up! Circle Card thinlits and nests nicely in the 2 1/2" circle punch. The white stripes are from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and are embossed in white onto vellum.
