Country Home - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to the October Artisan Blog Hop! This month we're showing you an array of ideas with the gorgeous Country Home stamp set and coordinating products. I LOVE this suite! It has so many great neutral accessories along with it that I've been using to no end - and that yellow! Mmmm... 

This card is ALL about the texture. I used the Chicken Wire Elements as a template to sponge through on the base and used some under the sentiment, frayed the Braided Linen Trim, used the Tin Tile DTIEF on Country Lane designer paper and then tore it and sanded it, popped on a Galvanized Clip and splattered Frost White Shimmer Paint across the whole lot! Woah, catch your breath!

Tools/Accessories: Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Braided Linen Trim, Galvanized Clips, Chicken Wire Elements, Sponge Dauber

While we're talking fun with texture, this next card is a Christmassy take on the Country Home stamp set. I slathered the Frost White Shimmer paint over Coastal Cabana embossed cardstock which turned it into more of a Pool Party hue.

Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party Marker

Papers: Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade

Tools/Accessories: Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Frost White Shimmer Paint (applied with a tissue), Silver Metallic Thread, Coloured Doilies, Stampin' Blends - Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake

Snowflake Showcase - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Today I get to feature the Happiness Surrounds stamp set - an all-year-round fun set with cute sentiments and patterns. 

PROJECT ONE

First off, here's a fun class idea for your customers this November - using only stamps, paper, ink and some basic embellishments! 

Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Surrounds
Inks: Smoky Slate, Momento Tuxedo Black, Grapefruit Grove
Papers: Whisper White Narrow Notecards and Envelopes, Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Lemon Lime Twist, Highland Heather
Tools/Accessories: Snowflake Trinkets, Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine, Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack

Matchbox Measurements:
Base: 4 3/8" x 6 1/2" - score at 3/4" in from each edge, snip to create flaps and form an open top box.
Lid: 5" x 8" - score at 2 7/8", 3 5/8", 6 1/2", 7 1/4". Very slightly overshoot each measurement to give your lid room to fit the box base inside. Ease around the box base to make sure the shape fits well before you go ahead and crease with your bone folder.

PROJECT TWO

We're heading into wedding season here in the South Pacific. When I come to make a wedding card I usually take colour cues from the invitation and go from there. The Snowfall Thinlits have some great botanical pieces I just couldn't pass up for this card. Don't you love the way the subtle background flower from the stamp set ties in with the dies too?

Who Inspires YOU? - Let's Get Hopping 14

Welcome to Let's Get Hopping round 14! This month we're all about 'Who Inspires You?'. Wow - where do you begin? While I have many sources of inspiration from crafty friends across the globe, this particular project began with the one and only Rochelle Blok. Thanks Rochelle for all the incredible beauty you put out into the world!

This baby gift was sent for a friend's granddaughter. The cute-as cardigan was knitted by my mum. I did the crochet hat which was worn by my girl when she was wee - my one amazing crochet hat I've never repeated and I can't even tell you how I did it! Suffice to say, I've been saving these for a special babe for quite some time!
