Change the look...

Same design, two different looks. Here are a couple of masculine cards I've made lately. One thing I find with making cards for men is that you don't have to have anything overwhelmingly male about it. While I love a girly stamp set, a few wise choices in the purchasing department mean most of my sets are generic enough to use for masculine and feminine cards. All it takes is the right colours, and usually omitting things like flowers... haha. One of these is inspired by a male I know who has quite a vast shell collection! This shell set is retired now but I still love its sketched look.

Absolute Bliss

When I was away on the weekend, I took just one small box of stamping supplies with me. I find it really refreshing to give myself limited resources and see how much I can come up with. It saves a lot of time choosing what set and colours to use. Love it! Here are some baby cards I made for our church. The cards had to be generic so they can be sent to parents of both girls and boys...

Peach Parfait, Concord Crush and Crumb Cake - a winning colour combination don't you think? And let me just say, I am loving the Bliss set more and more every time I use it! It's yours free during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $120.

Floral Thoughts

Here's a little card I made lately. Look familiar? I used my own squash book as inspiration! The great thing about craft is that you can use the same idea over and over to get you going and then let it form a life of it's own as you go along. Also, big ups to Stampin' Up! for making gorgeous products that transition well between card-making and scrap-booking.

Quick tip - photograph your cards before you give them away! If you're ever in a rut and need ideas to get you going, you've got a file of pictures you're sure to love because you made them yourself!

By the way - loved using the Naturals Ivory card stock (the base of the card). It's got a nice gritty feeling to it without having to be textured.

Just Add Ink #55

This week at JAI, the theme is love. Since it's wedding season, this suited me perfectly! Here's my entry...

Don't you just love this stamp set? It's very aptly named 'Bliss' and it's yours free when you spend $120 until the end of March. Watch my upcoming posts (going to bombard you this evening) for more of this gorgeous set.

Props to my lovely sister-in-law, Olivia, for providing the inspiration for this card.

Edit 17/02/11:
