Step it Up Sketch - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Fancy Friday blog hop! We're a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisans who love to bring you inspiration each month. We hope you take these ideas and CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) them in your own crafting time and space!

You've Got This Step It Up Sketch Challenge - Susan Wong for Fancy Friday

This month we have a sketch challenge with a twist. As we share our simple projects and also their stepped up versions, you can see how to turn a basic card into something spectacular. OR pare something super fancy back into a card that's quick and easy to replicate. This is such a great skill to have when turning creations you come across into your own works of art. So, beginners and avid crafters alike, this hop is for you. #yourewelcome  :) xx

Fancy Friday Step It Up Sketch Challenge

FIRST - keep it simple with stamped layers from the You've Got This stamp set.

HOT TIP: Basic Colouring
Don't forget our Stampin' Write markers are great for that touch of colour where you need it. I used my Delightful Dijon marker to add interest to the flower centre.

THEN - step it up with some Watercolor Pencils, paper layers and attention to detail...

Swoon!! Don't you love the Sale-A-Bration Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper?!

HOT TIP: Sponging a background
Want to avoid streaks or putting on too much colour too fast? Pick up your ink on your sponge then and dry it out on spare paper until it's not streaky but still giving colour. Then apply in thin layers to your background paper. I built mine up for the ombre effect using Delightful Dijon.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: You've Got This
Inks: Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Delightful Dijon, Basic Black Archival
Papers: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper
Tools/Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Aqua Painter, 2015-2017 In Color Doilies, Basic Black Baker's Twine, Basic Jewels Rhinestones
